University of Arizona Cancer Center

The University of Arizona Cancer Center is part of the St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center/Dignity Health outpatient facility in downtown Phoenix. The new facility offers comprehensive cancer services, a women’s center, clinical lab space and other related support spaces. WDG’s scope included planting, irrigation, and hardscape design, as well as construction administration with Hensel Phelps Construction Company.

The design incorporated native plant materials for human-thermal comfort, and plaza space with varied private and communal gathering areas for patient and staff respite.
