The project program for the University of Arizona Law Commons included the expansion and enhancement of outdoor gathering and studying spaces in conjunction with renovations to the College of Law building. The project includes water harvesting, preservation of established shade trees, redesign of an existing courtyard, enhancement of the pedestrian experience along Helen Street via new shade trees and new sidewalks, improved accessibility throughout the project, and irrigation plans. WDG also worked to create a simplified plant palette that was more cohesive with the Campus Arboretum. The final landscape design supports the gathering space needs of the College of Law students and faculty. The space functions for a variety of events, from formal law school receptions to casual daytime meetings.
